A new song, a new chapter, and 30 fans from around the world: Jackson Wang makes his latest release a personal one.

Jackson Wang has never really been an artist who stays in one lane. From fencing and gymnastics to K-pop, solo music, fashion, and entrepreneurship, his career has taken him through more chapters than most artists could fit into one résumé. Now, he’s taking a moment to look back.

The Hong Kong-born global star has released “Thank You,” a new single and music video dedicated to the fans who have been there throughout his journey. The release also marks a fresh chapter for Wang as his first new music since signing with Roc Nation.

And true to the song’s message, the music video isn’t just about Jackson. It’s about the people who helped make the journey what it is.

A Music Video Made With His Fans

Directed by Ojun Kwon and shot entirely on iPhone 18 Pro, the black-and-white video takes a stripped-back approach. Jackson moves through different moments and stages of his life, reflecting on the people and experiences that shaped him along the way.

Adding to the personal feel are 30 real Jackson Wang fans, selected from applicants across more than 80 countries, including China, the United States, Australia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Each person, outfit, and circle featured in the video represents a different memory or chapter in Jackson’s story. The visuals look back at his childhood, his early years in gymnastics and fencing, his friendships, and the music career that eventually took him around the world.

With his fans appearing throughout these moments, the video brings together the people and experiences that have been part of Jackson’s journey so far.

A New Chapter With Roc Nation

The timing of the release is significant. “Thank You” is Jackson’s first new music since officially signing with Roc Nation, adding another major milestone to an already busy year.

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z welcomed Jackson to the company, describing him as an artist with a “very special drive” and expressing excitement for what comes next.

For Jackson, the song serves as both a thank-you and a transition. It looks back at the different eras of his career while pointing toward whatever comes next.

And there’s plenty to build on. His MAGICMAN 2 album debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and placed him in the Top 15 of the Billboard Artist 100. He has also been taking the MAGICMAN 2 World Tour across North America and Latin America, including sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Manila Has a Special Place in the Story

For Filipino fans, the new release carries an extra connection. Jackson brought the MAGICMAN 2 Tour to Manila for the first time in November 2025, performing at the Araneta Coliseum. During the show, he shared a message about hope and encouragement with the audience, something that now feels particularly fitting alongside “Thank You.”

After the Manila stop, Jackson described the experience as “insane” and said he had finally learned what the “Manila vibe” means.

From Athlete to Global Star

Long before the sold-out arenas and global fashion campaigns, Jackson was a competitive athlete. He trained as a fencer and was a Junior Olympic-level saber fencer before pursuing a career in entertainment.

Music eventually became his biggest platform. His solo debut “Papillon” arrived in 2017, followed by MIRRORS in 2019, and later MAGIC MAN and MAGICMAN 2. Along the way, he collaborated with artists including Ciara, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, Galantis, Gucci Mane, Joji, and GoldLink, while building an international audience of his own.

His creative world extends beyond music, too, with partnerships involving brands such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Armani, Nike, and Air Jordan, alongside his own ventures including TEAM WANG Records and TEAM WANG Design.

He also made history at Coachella as the first Chinese solo artist to perform on the festival’s main stage, later returning for two more consecutive years.

Now, with Roc Nation behind his next chapter and “Thank You” offering a look back at the road that brought him here, Jackson seems more interested in acknowledging the journey than simply rushing toward the next milestone.

And who better to thank than the people who have been watching it all unfold?
