Manila, Philippines — Pop superstar Jennifer Lopez revealed she officially got married in “a dress from an old movie” to actor Ben Affleck at a Las Vegas ceremony– a love story 20 years in the making.

Jennifer shared the news on her newsletter to fans, On The JLo, on July 17, Sunday, US time.

“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” Jennifer wrote to her fans.

“We flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” she added. The couple’s marriage license was issued on Saturday in Clark County, Nevada, revealing the two got married on July 16, US time.

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she also wrote.

Jennifer appeared to have two bridal looks for her nuptials. One of them was a white off-the-shoulder lace gown with long sheer sleeves, corset bodice, a sweetheart neckline and fishtail train along with a matching lace-trimmed veil from a collection by Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad.

Lopez told fans about the wedding in her newsletter and called it the “best night of our lives.”

JLo also had on a white sleeveless boatneck gown with a quilted texture for her second look, presumably the vintage find from the old movie.

Jen and Ben first got together in 2002 while filming the movie “Gigli” and got engaged in 2003. The two broke off the wedding plans due to “too much media attention.” They got back together in 2021, and in April this year, Ben proposed again to Jennifer with a gorgeous 8.5-carat green diamond reportedly estimated to be worth around $5 million purchased from Ilan Portugali of Beverly Hills Diamonds.

Turns out, love is indeed sweeter the second time around!
