French fragrance house Diptyque marked its third key moment in its anniversary year by releasing a summer collection that pays tribute to nature and to the open Mediterranean landscapes.

The summer collection was inspired by the open landscapes that Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet, two members of the trio who founded Diptyque, would frequent to relax.

Part of the collection is Ilio, the eau de toilette in the summer 2021 collection. It is also available as a hair mist. The product takes its name from ilios, which is the Greek word for “sun”. Its scent is characterized by prickly pear — an emblematic, unconventional fruit from the Mediterreanean — and notes that blend bergamot, iris, and jasmine.

There are also two new limited edition scented candles. One is a candle in the classic 190-gram format, and another a large-format version that celebrates the scent of lemongrass. Also called citronella, this grass is associated with summer because of its tangy coolness and mosquito-repellent properties.

Diptyque also launched a new scent to commemorate this anniversary summer. The Maison specially developed a body spray that has a base of essentials such as lemongrass, geranium, and lemon eucalyptus, all known for their ability to repel mosquitoes.

This product is an innovation in the field of perfumery and a testament to the spirit of the Maison which combines function and beauty and the useful with the enjoyable. The summer body spray has floral notes and a closing touch of musk, truly an indispensable item of the season.

Another highlight product in the collection is the reinvented Vinaigre de toilette, one of the Maison’s first products. This updated eau de toilette was crafted exclusively to mark the occasion. Reincarnated with a Mediterranean flair, the aromatic eau de toilette was inspired by the traditional regional scent recipe featuring lavender, rosemary, and thyme. This is a multifunctional product that you can use to perfume clothes, help the body unwind, beautify the hair, and even cleanse the home.

Diptyque also launched a special packaging for its summer collection. The Maison commissioned English artist and illustrator Luke Edward Hall to create colorful packaging capturing summer in Mediterranean destinations such as the Greek island of Hydra, the Riviera, and the Amalfi Coast.
