Playing chess has never been this sexy cool– thanks to Netflix’s biggest scripted limited series to date: The Queen’s Gambit.

Argentine-British actress Anya Taylor-Joy‘s dark yet vulnerable portrayal of chess prodigy Elizabeth “Beth” Harmon is simply genius. The character’s ’60s fashion sense of Peter Pan collars, check prints and jewel tones is captivating, and the actress’ flawless beauty is as mesmerizing. Luckily, Anya has shared in several media interviews some of her favorite go-to’s when it comes to the beauty department.

1.Go-to Lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury

In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2019, Anya, who’s a natural blonde, shared how her platinum hair has always been a “source of identity” all her life. By 18 years old, she experimented with really short, strawberry-hued hair, then kicked off her acting career with black locks. Last year, she was dark redhead, and she tried to rock a deep auburn shade, too.

While experimenting with different hair colors, the actress found her go-to lip shade that goes with any hair changes.

“There’s an incredible lipstick called Bond Girl by Charlotte Tilbury. It goes with every hair color I have ever had, and is an actual lifesaver because you’re just like, ‘made an effort, don’t look crazy, great’. I’m terrible at makeup, genuinely. Basically the only thing I can do is put on lipstick and mascara,” the actress shared.

Charlotte Tilbury ‘s Matte Revolution lipstick in ‘Bond Girl’ color, now named as ‘M.I. Kiss’ shade, is available at Beauty MNL for ₱2,350.00. Shop it here.

2.  Face Cleanser from Chanel

Anya also narrated how she was very much “the roll-in-the-dirt kind of kid—the ultimate tomboy” when she was growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. And so it took her a while to find her beauty routine. “But now that I have makeup on a lot, I like this cleanser by Chanel called Sublimage. It’s the one thing that doesn’t ever make me break out because I have such sensitive skin,” she said.

This gel-to-oil face cleanser retails at ₱6,321.00. Shop it on Zalora here.

3.Tinted Sunscreen from SkinCeuticals

During her interview with Elle UK, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ star further shared her face care routine. “I wash my face, follow with SkinCeuticals Mineral Radiance UV Defense SPF5O – it’s tinted, so gives you a little something while protecting skin.”

This weightless fluid helps to moisturize, mattify and protect the skin effectively against damage caused by UVA/UVB rays.

The price is ₱2,627.67. Shop it here.

4.Serum from SkinCeuticals

“I use SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective when I’m nervous and cameras are going off – it calms down my redness.”

The oil-free skin balancing serum helps to moisturize and soothe the skin, and is ideal to use on very sensitive skin, post treatment or in acne or rosacea cases.

This 30ml bottle retails at ₱4,395.19. You may shop it here.

5. Fave Fragrance

Joy-Taylor became the face of Viktor&Rolf’s FlowerBomb Midnight perfume in 2019. The endorsement was like a full-circle experience for the actress.

“I’ve always been obsessed with scent because I have really terrible eyesight, so my sense of smell is very acute. One of the notes in Flowerbomb Midnight—black currant—was actually the first perfume that I ever owned as a child,” she said.

Today, the classic beauty is still the face of the FlowerBomb line of Victor&Rolf Fragrances.

The classic FlowerBomb perfume ranges from ₱7,999.00 – 12,099.00, depending on the variation and size. Shop it here.
