Manila, Philippines — With a lot of food fests we are participating this holiday season, it is just smart to plan ahead our body detox which we should have after all the food coma! And if there is one premier wellness resort you should consider for your detox staycation, it should definitely be The Farm at San Benito.

Located in Lipa, Batangas two-hour drive away from Manila, The Farm at San Benito is a multi-awarded luxury holistic medical wellness resort, even named as the “Best Medical Wellness Resort in the World” by SENSES Germany. Known for its holistic wellness and medical programs, I suggest you make your stay here solely focused on your health, as one wellness program can be thoroughly planned for you by its medical staff after their health assessments and tests on you. Your stay here can truly rejuvenate your body and health from within, as you are of course surrounded by the lush green jungle, majestic mountains, pristine, fresh air and relaxing infinity swimming pools.

Aside from its relaxing holistic medical programs and upscale villas and residences, this 48-hectare property boasts of its healthy and mouth-watering dishes from its vegan restaurants, spa options from its luxe massage centers, meditation activities and holistic wellness classes.

As The Farm became the first medical wellness resort to put up its own on-site COVID testing center, you are welcomed by its medical staff to have your swab test first — assuring you that all guests inside are COVID-free.

We filmed our The Self-Love Series segment for our style narrative television series Stylish TV at The Farm, wherein we were given a total-wellness experience by the staff — from personal health assessments by the doctors with their top-of-the-line expertise, equipment and technology, wellness classes, nutritious and delicious dishes, to detox health programs.

I got to stay at The Farm’s Narra Pool Villa, a spacious house nestled along the nature’s stream, with its own infinity swimming pool. As you swim, the experience lets you breathe in the fresh air from the lush trees and enjoy the natural sound of the water stream surrounding you.

Aside from the basic COVID tests, our stay started with health assessments, such as blood tests wherein one is given a chance to see the blood cells and oxygen from a computer screen, as the doctor explains the guest’s blood condition. We also got to have our cellular health screening, wherein one can have an idea how each organ in one’s body is doing through the wellness resort’s advanced technology. The medical staff is headed by Dr. Marian Alonzo, backed by her 17 years of medical practice with expertise in integrative medicine and psycho-emotional health through autonomic nervous system balancing.

Detox Cleanse at The Farm

While I have a lot of favorite moments from our stay in this luxury wellness resort, the one program that I would totally do again is the three-part colon cleansing at The Farm.

One essential part of taking care of your health is making sure your colon is healthy. Colon cleansing is normally used as preparation for medical procedures such as a colonoscopy, but it has other important purposes too, such as detoxification. Colonics flushes out large portions of the bowel system– pushing out the bowels, mucus and other toxins from inside your stomach. But it is not advised that you go straight to doing the colonics, especially if it is your first time to do a colon cleanse. Thus, The Farm has a three-part colon cleanse program for a healthy body detoxification.

Colema is the first step of the Colon Hydrotherapy at The Farm. The process is called Colema Cleansing Enema. This procedure cleans up the lower part of the colon with warm solution, which is introduced into the rectum by gentle gravity. This treatment introduces either coffee or chamomile tea into your colon using a soft tube to help clear waste materials and assists in the detoxification process. I was able to try the coffee one, and I think it was chosen for me by the doctor based on their medical assessment on me. You are not supposed to eat anything before the procedure. The Colema Cleansing Enema can be done once a month, and has been proven to improve health and even cure skin allergies.

Now, the second part of the colon cleanse, Colon Hydrotherapy – Angel of Water, is recommended one week after your Colema Cleansing Enema. Same thing, you are not supposed to eat anything before the treatment.

The Colon Hydrotherapy – Angel of Water is the second step of the colon clease at The Farm. The Angel of Water Colon Cleansing uses gallons of clean filtered water to help reach higher into the ascending colon. This procedure actually allows you to watch how toxins are being pushed out from inside you through a mirror.

Now for the main cleanse which you can have a day after your Angel of Water session, the Colon Hydrotherapy – Colonics is the third step of the overall colon cleanse, which detoxifies the whole entire colon by using a pressure driven water system. This procedure is a little uncomfortable, but that is because mucus, stuck bowels and toxins from deep inside your upper colon are pushed out of your body by the water. The nurses are so friendly by the way, even informing you of the details that go on during your colon cleanse. My biggest takeaway from this entire detox program is that you should really, really chew your food for proper digestion.

After my entire colon cleanse program, I felt a lot lighter as I actually lost three pounds from my second visit, which was only a three-day stay. All that cleansing and detox, matched with the super delicious vegan dishes from the Alive restaurant prepared by Chef Mari, truly made a big difference!

Feeling Alive from Within!

Alive! Restaurant is this luxury haven’s dining place wherein you can enjoy delicious organic vegan dishes freshly prepared by the chefs. The natural ingredients are hand-picked from The Farm’s own organic gardens.

The preparation and cooking methods used by the chefs here retain the optimum amount of enzymes and nutrients needed by our bodies. Fresh fruits and vegetables are prepared raw, and food are prepped using innovative methods to deliver world-class masterpieces for a healthy gut– providing the enzymes to convert nutrients to Vitamin B complexes. Wellness Activities

Aside from the nutritious food fests, the Stylish team got to enjoy other wellness activities such as the Mandala Flower Meditation, a calming form of art therapy that teaches you about floral arrangements.

We also got lucky to have an exclusive Eye Exercise class with Dr. Marian herself. The eye exercises are meant to correct errors of refraction such as astigmatism or near and far-sightedness. This session includes tips to improve eyesight naturally through nutrition and safeguard the eyes from electromagnetic radiation-related damages.
