From teaching makeup techniques and influencing our beauty buys through our device screens, YouTube beauty gurus have been expanding their reach with the creation of their own brands and makeup lines. The latest to join this elite group is Filipino-American Patrick Simondac, who is better known as his online persona Patrick Starrr.

Bald, obese, gay, and a child of immigrants, Patrick is the first to admit that he never expected to become one of the biggest names in the beauty scene. But it was his message of self-love, positivity and inclusivity that put his subscriber list and viewership well into the millions. One Size Beauty is inspired by Patrick’s advocacy that “makeup is a one size fits all”, offering a brand identity that anyone and everyone can relate to.

Patrick is known for his very extra, full-on glamazon look featuring high coverage foundation and detailed eye makeup, so it came as a surprise when he announced that the brand’s new products would feature makeup removers! He explains that the product category is underdeveloped despite its importance as the in-between step between makeup and skincare. It also reinforces his philosophy of accepting and loving what we truly look like, and of being able to appreciate the face as canvas to paint on. On a personal level, Patrick shares that it is also a reclamation of the shame and embarrassment he felt when a former manager told him he wore “too much makeup” and had him remove it before starting his shift.

Designed to be bigger, thicker, and more durable than others on the market, GO OFF Juiciest Makeup Remover Wipes ($15) promise to remove makeup in one, easy swipe. It contains a concoction of coconut water and aloe vera to moisturize and cleanse skin, plus chamomile and cucumber to soothe and relieve skin irritations.

We may be used to misting our faces to set our makeup, but Patrick is innovating with a mist that does exactly the opposite. GO OFF Makeup Dissolving Mist ($24) makes removing heavy makeup easy with just a few spritzes, and boasts of a mess-free, no-drip formula. It’s also infused with jojoba and rosehip oil to prevent skin from feeling tight or dry.

Close on the heels of the makeup removers release was the much-awaited drop of Patrick’s first take on color cosmetics. The focus is all on eye makeup, a smart move given the current situation. Get easy and smudge-free eye definition with Point Made 24-Hour Liquid Eyeliner Pen and Point Made 24-Hour Gel Eyeliner Pencil ($19 each). Both formulas are waterproof, sweatproof, and ultra-pigmented with a matte finish.

Quarantine makeup doesn’t have to be complicated to look stunning. Just one swipe of the Eye Popper Sparkle Vision Liquid Eyeshadow ($22 each) is all you need to make your eyes sparkle. The long-lasting formula features a mix of pigment and multi-size glitter particles to create dimension. It can be worn alone or on top of another shadow, and is available in five shades: P House (champagne nude with silver reflects), Let’s Pump (metallic taupe with silver reflects), Everything and More (iridescent rose gold with pink reflects), Death Drop (metallic black with silver and gold reflects), and Continental (gilded olive with gold reflects).

The obvious star of the collection is the Patrick Starrr Visionary Eyeshadow Palette ($42), a huge 15-pan color treat with both conservative neutrals and more adventurous options. It promises “one-swipe payoff” with its highly pigmented colors, and a buttery formula that makes it easy to blend and build to your desired intensity. The mix of matte and pearlescent finishes, as well as the inclusion of several transition shades, makes it easy to create a variety of eye looks with a single palette.

One Size Beauty is exclusively available on Sephora and the brand’s website. As of press time, Sephora PH has to confirm if the collection will be included for local release.
