Manila, Philippines — Maserati Philippines officially introduced the Maserati Grecale during its media launch event held at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in BGC, Taguig recently.

“I am filled with so much pride and excitement to unveil the newest masterpiece from Maserati: the Grecale,” Sam Verzosa, president of Maserati Philippines, shared during his speech at the launch. “It is my pride to introduce to you our newest SUV. I want you to feel what luxury, craftsmanship and passion are all about. Maserati is all about luxury and performance in one. As what our CEO, David Grasso, always says, Maserati is all about exclusivity. It is everyday exceptional, and we are not like everyone else.”

Takayuki Kimura, the Japanese head of the Asia Pacific of the Italian luxury car brand, also graced the event, saying, “As the inaugural offering for a new segment of Maserati, we are very excited to bring Grecale to the Philippines to turn everyday journeys into extraordinary driving experiences. Grecale embodies a perfect blend of sportiness and sophistication.”

Maserati PH, together with the Philippine distributor Modena Motorsports Inc, announced the arrival of the Grecale in the country with its two new models: The Maserati Grecale GT and Trofeo. GT is powered by a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine capable of delivering 300 hp. The powerful Trofeo, on the other hand, is equipped with a high-performance 3.0L 530-hp petrol V6 based on the Nettuno engine fitted to the MC20.

Grecale is a range of the Trident brand, and the fullest ever. An extremely wide range of engines is available: conventional internal combustion, hybrid. The Maserati Grecale GT comes with sweptback LED headlights with daytime running lights, adding sophistication and character to the SUV’s front end. Meanwhile, the Grecale Trofeo has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 530 hp and 620 Nm of torque, with a claimed top speed of 285 km/h. The fully electric Grecale Folgore will reportedly arrive soon, making Grecale the first full-electric SUV in Maserati history.

The Grecale marked the first time that Maserati upgraded its traditional, mechanical timepiece. The digital clock can now acknowledge voice commands with a response signal, aside from its common function of telling the time.

Three more variants shall be made available in the Philippine market soon: Modena, which is equipped with a four-cylinder 330-hp mild hybrid engine; the PrimaSerie Launch Edition, a limited edition featuring exclusive content; and to complete the range, the Grecale Folgore, the 100% electric version with 400V technology – all will be made available for indent ordering.

“I am confident to say that this will be the best year of Maserati Philippines. Just last month, we released the best-looking, super sports car MC20, and I am proud to say that the Philippines is the number one in terms of sales of the MC20 for the whole of Southeast Asia. We are introducing our newest SUV tonight, and introducing a new model before the year ends,” Verzosa concluded during the launch event.
