During these strange, complicated times, high fashion houses are getting more and more creative in introducing their latest collections through the help of technology. Ralph & Russo is one of the luxury brands that have brilliantly maximized the power of advancement. Introducing its Autumn/Winter 2020 Couture Collection, the style powerhouse has had its avatar muse modelling its latest creations, with the seven wonders of the world as its backdrop.

Her name is Hauli, which means strength and power in traditional Swahili. She is rooted in African origins, and created to be a reflection of womankind— “the beautiful and inspiring women who bring courage and positive change to all corners of the world”.

Ralph & Russo was established in London in 2010 by duo Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo. In 2014, Ralph & Russo became the first British guest member in almost a century to be invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to show their first runway collection as part of the Spring/Summer 2014 couture season. The brand is known for “encompassing a blend of strong femininity, refined glamour, elevated elegance and timeless in its appeal, as the brand holds the art of female allure at its core”.

For this season, creative director Tamara Ralph shared that the collection highlighted in the brand’s first ever digital show experience is meant to “reflect on the far-reaching beauty of our natural world and the digitally charged future”.

The A/W 2020 collection is infused with wonder, encouraging all to take refuge during this difficult time in the world of fantasy, to look beyond and to dream.

The high fashion series features three-dimensional organza blooms and swathes of floral taffeta and tweed. The collection “defies singularity, bridging the gap between technology and the elements”. Tamara wants to present art and the world in its purest form–as truly knowing no bounds.
